  1. Hi Niki,

That smilebox tool you used is ABSOLUTELY awesome! What a great way to let out of town and family and friends get a glimpse of your holiday. I liked everything about it ... but one of my favourite features is the speed in which the pictures are shown. It was just right ... long enough to read the captions and short enough to keep your audience focused. I feel like I got to know a little bit more about you. This is a tool I definitely want to try out. Thanks! PS. You have a very sweet little guy!!!

  2. Hi Niki,
I too am a "scrapbooker" and I like the results (music included) that you get with smilebox. I will have to look more closely at smilebox to see if it handles my picture storage problems.
As far as appearance goes, I like the "collage" option of picasa3 but think I need to "finetune" it. On the program they look great but small on a blog.:-(

I do think we have to worry about pictures on the internet especially with tagging. It's hard to juggle through all of the "privacy" options on any program until you know it really well. I think that is why Richardson says, "the best way to fully understand the potential of blogging is to become a blogger"(p.43)

  3. Thanks, Niki, you raise a number of important issues related to photo sharing. The private/public debate is a tough one especially when you are working with or using photos of kids. For parents, I think it comes down to what you are most comfortable with and knowing all the options that are available in terms of privacy settings, etc. I'm glad you talked a little bit about creative commons--a great thing for teachers to know about and to start teaching their students about as we try to educate kids to be good digital citizens.
